Raised mostly in a holler on the border of West Virginia and Virginia. Formed in summer of 2013 while working on a cattle ranch in East Texas. This family band is a second generation alt-country four piece that brings garage-rock speed and power, southern rock harmonies and straight up kickassery to their music. They played their first real gig together in October 2013 during ACL at the HIckoids’ Corn Lover’s Fiesta in Austin, and in the spring of 2014 during SXSW at Jeff Smith’s Saustex Records showcase.
Raw and unapologetic, The Dead Lizardz combine Blues with influences of their Southern upbringing and individual musical tastes, creating a style of music that blurs the lines of what you thought “The Blues” were.
Rodney “Pie-Man” Henry, of Dangerously Delicious Pies in Detroit, DC, Baltimore and Austin. Also legendary frontman of the Glenmont Popes, a rockabilly band out of Baltimore.
