Young Chicago upstarts Ghetto Division have been said to be making their “own lane in the club music game.” Integral to the group is MaddJazz, a SouthSider by way of Guadalajara, Mexico. MaddJazz has been honing his innovative style for nearly fifteen years. By 18 years old he was already DJing at raves, loft parties and clubs. Influenced by these early raves as well as his start in the turntablism scene ‐ where he placed 3rd three years in a row at the DMC Chicago heats. MaddJazz blends his favorite House, Techno, Rave, Hip Hop, Bmore, Electro, Booty, Juke, and latin elements in the attempt to find new inventive ways to showcase the emergent Chicago sound. Maddjazz helped form the DJ/production crew known as Ghetto Division, and together have brought their signature sound to the dance music scene. And the scene is listening. MaddJazz has shared the decks with celebrated talent by the likes of Diplo, Kingdom, Paul Johnson, Little Louie Vega, Drop The Lime, The Crookers, Dubbel Dutch, Kaptain Cadillac, DJ Rashad, Blaqstarr, DJ Tameil, Tim Dolla, Mike Dunn, CZR, Bad Boy Bill, Ron Carroll, NIck Catchdubs, AC Slater, Jubilee, Distal, DJ Sega, The X-Ecutioners, DJ Qbert, Keys N Krates as well as opening up for Hip Hop heavy weights such as UGK, Jadakiss, Styles P, Daddy Yankee, Maluca and Chicago’s own Kid Sister. He’s made raves and clubs bang across the Midwest, as well as WMC and SXSW. Maddjazz has even recently brought his sound to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Poland, Germany, France, Spain and has collaborated and remixed for a list of well respected individuals such as Club Cheval’s own Canblaster (Sounds Of Sumo), DJ Kesmo (Booty Call Records), The Amplid (Tracy Recordings), Proper Villains (Nightshifters), Ultravid (Silverback Recordings), Modabot (Rot10 Musik) Acid Jacks (Idiot House Records) and fellow Chicago peers Rampage & Nader (T&A Records).
