All of 25 years old, Mike Zabrin is already considered to be a bass phenom, featured in Bass Player Magazine, No Treble Magazine, and WGN to name a few. Mike grew up touring across the United States with Chicago blues artists, playing behind some of the best names in blues music at places like Allstate Arena, House of Blues, Chicago Blues Festival, and Bonita Springs Blues Festival.
In May 2014, Mike left his nightly side-man club gigs to become producer and band leader of soul infused, funk driven powerhouse, Mike Zabrin’s Funktastic. His 2014 debut record, Funktastic, features collaborations with members of Kool & the Gang, Fishbone, and Kendra Foster of Parliament Funkadelic. Opening for renowned artists like Fareed Haque, his energetic live shows along with his insanely talented musicians is what keeps MZF one of the most working funk bands in the Chicagoland area.
Outside of performing, Mike is a band ensemble coach and bass instructor at Terra Sounds Music of School & Arts in Glenview, IL.
