Samir Abdul is a Chicago-based stand-up comedian and producer originally from Darfur, Sudan.
A survivor of the Darfur genocide, he turns lived experience into sharp, fearless comedy blending personal storytelling, political insight, and cultural contradictions to find humor in truths! He has performed at The Second City, Zanies, Laugh Factory, Don’t Tell Comedy, and The Den Theatre, sharing stages with talents such as AGT’s Learnmore Jonasi and WGN’s Pat Tomasulo.
He’s also the creator and producer of Up’N Coming at The Second City, a fast-growing showcase that has drawn over 1,000 audience members and helped spotlight rising talent in Chicago. Beyond the stage, Samir serves as an Artist-in-Residence at Northwestern University, where he explores how comedy can shape public dialogue.
