Joe's Truck Stop

JOE’S TRUCK STOP

Honest-to-goodness, bonafide, doggone, Ohtucky/Kentio, pretty-dang-decent, original, unadulterated, Rocknrollin,’ Bluegrassin’, Old Timin’, Honkytonkin’, Western Swingin’, Country Blues music from the Ohio River Valley, written and led by Joe Macheret.

The songs are stories of travelling, love, temptation, heartbreak, family, banjo pickin’ tobacco spittin’ women, gas station sushi, and so much more…

We’ve released a handful of self recorded demos and two studio albums, the Free Showers EP in 2014 and American Dreams, which came out in May 2018 to very positive reception.

“”…the song order throughout the album is like a well thought out mix-tape playlist. Throughout the album, Joe’s Truck Stop displays humor, insight, taste, and skill. Songs like “Blues for Two” and “One More Night” will take you to the era when country music’s stories felt timeless. Enjoy the humor in “Banjo Pickin’, Tobacco Spittin’ Gal” and “Knockin’ Boots”, and get lost in the love stories told in “Moon Sang” and “One More Night.”

Daydream Review

DAYDREAM REVIEW

Daydream Review (Elijah Montez) creates dreamy psych pop. His music takes a sonically nostalgic quality, as he weaves classically psychedelic pop sounds à la 1967 Beatles with a synthpop sensibility. After cutting his teeth in the live music capital of the world—Austin—as Laissez Faire Cassette, Montez rebranded as Daydream Review in the advent of his move to Pilsen, Chicago. “Montage” b/w “Then and There” was released shortly after in September 2018, marking a departure from the DeMarcoesque riffs of 2017’s Golden Summer EP into a phase of greater experimentation. Live, Montez is joined by Zac Bron (Breether) on synths and rhythm guitar, Eric Black (Big Blood) on drums, and Jackson Davis on bass. Daydream Review aims to release an LP in 2019.

Big Fucking Idiots

BIG FUCKING IDIOTS

The members of Big Fucking Idiots met while they were all individually trying to mug the same guy in an alley off Lincoln Avenue. Not only did they hit it off, their mugging target became a bandmate. Rhythmic and sonic discomfort not unlike a Chicago subway station during rush hour.

SPIDERS

SPIDERS is a Gothenburg based band featuring Ann-Sofie Hoyles, John Hoyles, Olle Griphammar and Ricard Harryson.

SPIDERS was formed in Gothenburg in February 2010. A few months later the band appeared at one of Sweden’s most successful music festivals, Way Out West. It was around this time SPIDERS for the first time as a band stepped into the studio with producer Don Ahlsterberg (The Soundtrack of Our Lives, International Noise Conspiracy) and started recording.

By the end of January 2011 SPIDERS released their debut record, a 10” vinyl EP on Crusher Records containing four tracks. The self-titled release was very well received and noticed in Record Collector as well airplayed on Sweden’s largest radio channel P3. In March 2011 those four previously released tracks came to be released in the USA as two separate 7” singles, one on Kemado Records the other on Valley King Records, the latter with an artwork made by well-known artist Alan Forbes.

Around this time drummer Axel Sjöberg, former drummer, left SPIDERS to work full time on Graveyard and came to be replaced by Ricard Harryson. In May 2011 SPIDERS stepped into the studio for the second time recording a two track single to be released on vinyl by De:Nihil Records in August and digital by Crusher Records in September.

In June 2012 SPIDERS began recording songs for their debut album. In early October the very same year the album, entitled “Flash Point”, was released. The album immediately reached the Sverigetopplistan, the Swedish Sales Charts of most sold albums. In November and December SPIDERS went on European tour together with Graveyard. By the end of the year SPIDERS’ debut album was nominated by P3 Gold (Swedish Radio Award) for best Rock/Metal of the Year.

In 2013 the band appeared on Sweden Rock Festival, the largest rock festival in Sweden, and toured Scandinavia as well as Spain and Portugal. In 2014 SPIDERS supported Kvelertak in Scandinavia and Blood Ceremony throughout Europe. In May 2014 the band released the single “Mad Dog” via Reaktor Recordings / Universal Music.

HANK VON HELL

It’s time.

Eight years have passed since the world of Punk Rock lost one of their greatest. The legendary frontman of Turbonegro, Hank Von Hell, left the scene and stated that he would never come back again. Fans all over the world have craved a return, begged him to reconsider. But Hank have firmly said “No”. Until now.

Like the rise of a Phoenix, Hank Von Hell rises from the ashes and is once again re-born as Hank Von Hell.

Roosevelt Purifoy

ROOSEVELT PURIFOY

Though he is not well known, even to many blues fans, Roosevelt “Hatter” Purifoy Jr. has performed for decades with a who’s who of artists: Buddy Guy, Marvin Gaye, Son Seals, Jimmy Johnson, Willie Clayton; and he appears on dozens and dozens of recordings, likely into the hundreds. He has been the go-to pianist for indy blues and jazz label Delmark Records for years. His talent for adapting his style to best support other artists has led to sessions with Lurrie Bell, Syl Johnson, Sugar Blue, Larry McCray, Eddie Burns, Mavis Staples, the Kinsey Report and many others.
A native of Chicago, Purifoy has worked full time as a musician since he was a young man. Mostly, he has been honored to make others sound their best. For much of his career, however, his opportunities were limited due to his refusal to board an airplane. He decided to fly a few years ago, and as a result, audiences across the country are discovering his talent. He is also stepping out front more often with his own keyboard-driven shows. Purifoy has now taken to the sky regularly as Lurrie Bell’s keyboardist, and he is finally working on a full-length recording of his own.

For two years, Wertico also hosted his own weekly radio show, Paul Wertico’s Wild World of Jazz, and as Musical Director for the crowdsourced TV video series, Inventing The Future, he was nominated for a 2012-2013 Emmy Award.

THE MYSTICAL HOT CHOCOLATE ENDEAVORS

The Mystical Hot Chocolate Endeavors started off as a passion project by Hate Storm Annihilation founder Craig Schmuhl, who had been interested in pursuing musical endeavors outside the sonic boundaries of the Death Metal genre. With the intention of delivering a more diverse musical experience, he began writing in the summer of 2015. No real purpose or goals, just writing with the only mission statement being that it NEEDED to be music made without limitation; genre, song length, or “standard song form” in anyway. In other words, TRUE PROGRESSIVE MUSIC.
Karmic Juggernaut

KARMIC JUGGERNAUT

As the name suggests, psychedelic/progressive outfit Karmic Juggernaut is an overwhelming force of sound. Formed initially as a quartet in 2004, the Asbury Park-based group has amassed a reputation for their eclectic style, musicianship, unique stage performances, inventive songwriting, and innovative solar-powered recordings using the Sun Lab Studio.

Karmic Juggernaut has been performing since 2005 with guitarists James McCaffrey and Randy Preston, and drummer Kevin Grossman. Bassist Cody McCorry joined in 2012, and vocalist Daimon Santa Maria and keyboardist Jake Hughes in 2017. They have released one full-length album and three previous EP’s, and have shared the stage with many major acts in the music community including Umphrey’s McGree, Bernie Worrell, moe., Keller Williams, Marco Benevento, and many others. Members of the group have been involved with many other acts such as Thank You Scientist, We Used To Cut The Grass, Ike Willis (of Frank Zappa), Remember Jones, Homeless Apians, Bumblefoot, Hive Mind, Bone & Marrow, Elevator Art, and many additional projects.

The band has just released their new full-length album, The Dreams That Stuff Are Made Of, a collection of thirteen unique tunes written by the group. Recorded and mixed at The Hangar at the New Jersey Shore, the new album is a departure from the band’s earlier recordings, featuring new frontman Daimon Santa Maria, keyboardist Jake Hughes, a robust horn section (Joe Gullace & Ian Gray), mallet work by percussionist AJ Merlino, theremin by bassist Cody McCorry, and an array of other instruments. The result is an vintage-inspired album with a postmodern view of psychedelia. This new record draws from an eclectic variety of genres and musical tastes, and touches on topics such as today’s political climate, B-movies, mental illness, and features satirical approaches of contemporary living.

Cheeto's Magazine

CHEETO’S MAGAZINE

In summer 2005, Esteban NAVARRO and Manel ORELLA (keys and guitar) got together to perform a series of bizarre shows as a funny and singular duet. Not really good stuff but great fun! A year later they decided to increase the family, bringing in Dídac GARCÍA (bass) and Joan MONTANÉ (drums). That was it, a real band! But… would they be able to face the progrock challenge? It took a year to prepare an hour of a proggy repertoire, and in 2007, it finally saw the light of day. The show was fresh and surprising, and the childish manners and image of the band, specially through their frontman, Esteban, quickly took a place on the audience hearts. In 2009 they recorded some of the best songs of that period on the EP ”ALL THE CHICKENS IN THE BOWL”. After two more years of shows and writing new stuff, in 2012 they got involved on their big project, the recording of a full length album, ‘BOILING FOWLS’!!2013 was a hard year, fully devoted to the studio. No playing, no shows, no fun… but it was worth it! Finally in early 2014 ‘BOILING FOWLS’ was ready to be presented to the prog community. An intense album, fresh, innovative and full of love for prog. Boiling Fowls was ready to eat the world! At the end of the recording sessions, the drummer, Joan MONTANE, left the band, and two more members were included to complete the project, Matias LIZANA on keys and vocals, and Eric ROVIRA on drums and vocals.

Last Flight To Pluto

LAST FLIGHT TO PLUTO

Led by Alice Freya, Last Flight To Pluto are a modern progressive rock band. They have a fresh approach to progressive music, whilst maintaining an old school vibe, thanks to an eclectic list of influences amongst the band members. The big news for the band in 2019 is the upcoming release of their second album ‘A Drop In The Ocean’. Featuring some excellent and visually striking artwork, this album follows on from the 2015 album ‘See You At The End’, which has gathered some rave reviews since its release and also landed the band a Limelight Feature in PROG magazine.

Hipster Assassins

FELIX PASTORIUS & HIPSTER ASSASSINS

The Hipster Assassins individual influences are extremely diverse and therefore somewhat difficult to force into one genre, but Jaco Pastorius’s coined “punk jazz” isn’t far off. This New York City based band was formed in 2010 by Felix Pastorius, and features John Bendy on guitar, Mike Bendy also on bass, Chris Ward on saxophone, and Kenny Grohowski on drums. Driving rhythms coupled with the technical prowess that each musician utilizes have led the group to perform at various NYC venues and maintain a weekly residency at Zinc Bar.

The Matt Gilmour Band

THE MATT GILMOUR BAND

The Matt Gilmour Band is an interstellar vehicle that plays psychedelic rock with touches of prog, blues, indie, folk, and funk. The band is a collaborative effort under the banner of The Matt Gilmour Band. “There is no way I could do this without the guys. They’re amazing musicians and amazing friends,” Matt says. In addition to Matt, the band features AJ Vincent on keys and Mike Hidalgo on drums. The Matt Gilmour Band gigs regionally and nationally, often performing with dazzling light show accompaniment.

Matt was born and raised in England where he grew up watching his father—Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour—from the side of the stage as he captivated arena crowds. Eventually, Matt began to solidify his musical chops and forge his own path discovering his identity through traversing a myriad of musical influences. As a signature sound coalesced, and Matt’s talents shined through, he began to write compelling compositions. One track he posted online caught the ear of legendary producer/engineer and Steppenwolf guitarist Danny Johnson who invited Matt to Austin to record a solo album. That album, The Grey, snapshots Matt in an intimate bluesy folk setting.

The Matt Gilmour Band represents a culmination of these profound times of personal and artistic growth. Standouts in the band’s current body of work are “Dear” and “Push.” The track “Dear” patiently unfolds from an airy piano-driven ballad to a majestic rocker with soaring melodies, cathartic hooks, and a fleet-fingered bluesy guitar solo. The grandly ethereal “Push” boasts an imaginative arrangement that feels like a spiritual journey offering a rousing uplifting message. “That song is about those times when we think can’t go any further, and we want to stop or give up. During those times of doubt, I think about my past, and how far I’ve come, and I feel a second wind. I just push through” Matt says.

Up next, The Matt Gilmour Band are concentrating on its innovative series of streaming performances, the band’s recorded output, and performing live regionally and nationally. At the moment, Matt says, the band is enjoying a wellspring of creativity. “It feels really like everything is taking off now. There is this wonderful unspoken energy and excitement that’s unqualifiable. I am looking so forward to the future,” he says.
The Cuckoos

THE CUCKOOS

This Austin, Texas based band isn’t wasting their youth, nor are they jettisoning the hallmarks of the greats who came before them. On the contrary, these four young men draw liberally from the deep well of vintage pop, heady psychedelic rock, sizzling hot funk, and even a bit of old-fashioned blues to create music that is at once classic yet forward thinking. Classic Rock Magazine rightly christened their psychedelic garage rock “spectacular,” declaring the band “hip young dudes who mine the late sixties acid rock scene for inspiration, but sound so authentic you’ll think you’re having a flashback.”

From Magical Mystery Tour to The Doors, from Velvet Underground to Jimi Hendrix, The Cuckoos roots run deep. Within the band’s swirling, trippy songs, there’s the magical alchemy of Pink Floyd, the stoic enigmatic melancholy of Joy Division, and the epic scope of Led Zeppelin. It’s all super-charged with the gritty energy of Nirvana at their most energetic. At times, one can almost feel the heat of Jimi Hendrix’s burning guitar, as the sonic vibes transport the audience to uncharted funky and jazzy dimensions. It’s all viewed through The Cuckoos young and constantly inspired lens, giving it a fresh feel.

Imagine The Doors, Joy Division, and Rick James writing songs with Tame Impala to begin to get the picture, but be aware, The Cuckoos are carving their own path, hungry to become more than the sum total of the music that has inspired them and to diligently add new elements that will inspire others. Art, after all, should be communal.

Lines In The Sky

LINES IN THE SKY

Lines In The Sky is an independent progressive rock band based out of Nashville, TN. Their unique sound is credited to a variety of legendary rock act influences, such as Peter Gabriel, Rush, Yes and early Genesis, to contemporaries like Coheed and Cambria and Strapping Young Lad.

Although they pay homage to their musical influences through their work, Lines In The Sky has been carving out their own space in the rock world. Starting out with a bang, LITS’ first two LPs were in collaboration with Tim Palmer (David Bowie, U2, Pearl Jam). Following those releases came the stunning LP Beacon in 2018 and single “Thalassophobia” in 2019. The act regrouped after the departure of the band’s bassist, and then woodshedded during the pandemic shutdown. Today, the band’s new bassist Nick Mills rounds out brothers Jesse Brock (lead guitar/Vocals) and Bowman Brock (drums) on Insight.

Independent touring veterans, LITS was warmly welcomed at international progressive rock festival Rites of Spring Festival (aka RoSFest), which has hosted bands like The Pineapple Thief, Thank You Scientist, Billboard-charting Haken, Bent Knee and Spock’s Beard.  The band also received press recognition and praise, both in the U.S. and internationally, boasting coverage from outlets such as PopMatters, Metal Injection, PROG UK, and 3-page spread in PROG Italia.  Recently, LITS has generated traction on TikTok—garnering 23K views from their “Synchronicity I” cover song play-through video, and the new live show footage video currently poised to surpass it.

With undeniable musical authenticity, the band’s distinctive sound is continually solidifying their place with core rock fans while attracting new ones that are not yet familiar with this young native Nashville trio.

Lucie Tiger

LUCIE TIGER

Lucie Tiger is known for her crowd-pleasing Americana blend of vintage blues-rock and country beats; a rhythm and riff-based sound sweetened with a voice that won’t quit – Music that you can dance, drive and dream to.

A Sydney-based musician, singer/songwriter, Lucie feels she was born in the wrong decade but she’ll just keep pretending that the 70s never ended. With frequent road trips through the dusty Australian countryside – the stereo always on and always loud – it was a given that she’d become a musician. When her father brought home an acoustic guitar and taught her the basics, Lucie couldn’t get enough and spent many a weekend figuring out her favourite songs by ear. It wasn’t long before Lucie started writing her own songs with inspiration coming from everywhere as she journeyed through life, a true traveller at heart.

Lucie released her debut self-titled EP in late 2018 (on Keith Richard’s birthday no less) and she’ll be following up with an album in late 2019. In the meantime, Lucie’s doing a tour of the US; recording and playing in Chicago, Nashville, Memphis, Muscle Shoals and Clarksdale. This follows a similar tour which saw Lucie play solo in Chicago, Nashville and New Orleans a few years back.

In 2019, Lucie won the SongsOnStage competition and she was recently nominated for the prestigious Australian Songwriting Association Award for Songwriting Excellence.  Lucie’s songs were short-listed in the ASA Rock/Indie Awards.

Both as a solo act and with her band Tiger & the Rogues, Lucie has played most of Sydney’s top music venues including the Enmore Theatre, Factory, Metro/Lair, Annandale Hotel, Moshpit, Vasco Bar, Manly Leagues Club, Sandringham and Lansdowne Hotels.

WEEPING WOUND

Weeping Wound is a nu-metal/metalcore act formed in SWFL mid-2017. With subject matter speaking out about abuse, addiction and mental illness they aim to be more of a statement than a band.

Consisting of Dylan Torre, Devin Schuler, Loren Whitaker, and Patrick Dowling who have all dealt with their share of trauma they’ve come together to be an honest and intense perspective as to what it’s like experiencing and growing from life’s unfair catastrophes through hard-hitting genre bending music.

AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH

Deriving from the recession-hit economies of suburbia and small-town Michigan, And Hell Followed With are noted for the energy and intensity that they bring with them in every live performance, and their relentless touring has helped them perfect their brutal yet skillful musicianship. They’ve combined their crushing riffs with an awesome technical approach that would make even the most seasoned pro green with envy! Brant Bjork 2019 photo by Adam Cohen

BRANT BJORK

Brant Bjork has spent over a quarter-century at the epicenter of Californian desert rock. From cutting his teeth alongside Fatso Jetson’s Mario Lalli in hardcore punkers De-Con to drumming and composing on Kyuss’ landmark early albums, to propelling the seminal fuzz of Fu Manchu from 1994-2001 while producing other bands, putting together offshoot projects like Ché, embarking on his solo career as a singer, guitarist and bandleader, founding his own record label and more, his history is a winding narrative of relentless, unflinching creativity.

For someone so outwardly laid back, he’s never really taken a break. And while Bjork has shown different sides of himself on albums like his funk-laden 1999 solo debut, Jalamanta, the mellow Local Angel (2004), 2007’s mostly-acoustic Tres Dias, and heavier rockers Somera Sól (2007), Gods & Goddesses (2010) and the two most recent outings with The Low Desert Punk Band, he’s maintained a natural representation of himself in his material, whether that’s coming across in the Thin Lizzy-isms of the faux-full-band 2002 release Brant Bjork and the Operators (actually just Bjork playing mostly by himself) or the weedy, in-the-jam-room spirit of “Dave’s War” from Tao of the Devil. When you’re listening to Brant Bjork, you know it, because there’s no one else who sounds quite like him.

That fact and years of hard touring have positioned Brant Bjork as an ambassador for the Southern California desert and the musical movement birthed there in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. As underground interest has surged in recent years, Bjork has been a pivotal figurehead, realigning with his former Kyuss bandmate John Garcia to drum and write in Kyuss Lives!/Vista Chino, celebrating and building on that legacy while giving a new generation of fans the chance to see it happen in real-time.

Having told his story in films like Kate McCabe’s Sabbia (2006) and the documentaries Such Hawks Such Hounds (2008) and Lo Sound Desert (2015), he’s represented desert rock at home and abroad with no less honesty than that which he poured into the music helping to create it. The same impulse led to the founding of his Desert Generator festival which transformed into Stoned and Dusted, an annual festival held in Pioneertown, CA, with an international reach capturing the intimacy and timeless aura of the desert culture in a secret desert location, and an evolution that looks to continue into the foreseeable future.

Bjork’s work, with any project, has always had a rebellious sensibility. He’s always walked his own path. But more, his career through Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Ché, Vista Chino, and his crucial solo work has been about freedom through rock and roll, attained by the truest representation of the person and the place as art. This, along with a whole lot of groove, is what has helped Brant Bjork define desert rock as a worldwide phenomenon, and whatever comes next, it is what will continue to make him its most indispensable practitioner.

VEIN

LANDON CUBE

There’s a poignant yet feel-good vibe that makes 21-year-old recording artist Landon Cube’s sound infectious. The Southern Maryland native has a diverse history within music, punctuated by his versatile catalog. As Landon readies the release of his upcoming single “Makeup,” the young star on the rise is geared to level up to the next chapter in his career. “When I write a song, I don’t go for a specific genre,” explains Landon. Raised in the small 500- person town of Pomfret, Maryland, Landon spent his days skateboarding through his suburb while tinkering with music very early on. “I started singing when I was about eight years old, but I wasn’t so sure of my voice,” he says with a laugh. It was his father, a career musician, who heard Landon singing one day and urged him to pursue music. Landon would frequently watch his father perform as both a keyboardist and guitarist, learning some tips along the way. In middle school, Landon fronted a small band while recording his own songs on the side using his father’s home studio equipment.

By his teens he was performing with his father in the Washington, D.C. circuit, covering Top 100 songs from the likes of Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, and John Mayer. “It was my first exposure performing in front of people,” he says. “It’s kind of what developed my singing voice.” Raised on his father’s favorite music of Stevie Wonder, The Doors, and Prince plus his own favorites including Warped Tour bands and Lil Wayne, Landon struck a balance once hip-hop evolved. “My interest in music was everywhere, which kind of describes my music,” he adds, “but when rap became more melodic, that’s when it all made sense to me.”

At 16, he made the firm decision that music was his chosen trajectory and once he graduated high school, he dropped his introductory cut “Euphoria.” His participation with local viral video crew Cufboys added fuel to the fire, as Landon began galvanizing a fan base through his laid back authenticity and knack for melding sounds. His cut “18” showed his growth, as the young artist details his mindset at the milestone age. “After 18, I told my fans I was going to do a song for every age after that to best describe that year of my life,” Landon explains. He delivered on
that promise with “19” and “20,” respectively.

Through Cufboys he met burgeoning star Lil Skies, as the two joined forces on cuts like “Red Roses” and “Nowadays,” the former impressively hitting one million streams in less than a month. It wasn’t long before Landon was Los Angeles bound and continued his upward mobility as an artist. “I was working on a lot of music and it was getting better and I realized I wanted stronger backing,” he says, then independent at the time. “A lot of people had this misconception that I was signed to Atlantic but I wasn’t.” He ultimately joined the Republic Records roster and is preparing for the release of his six-song debut EP.

When Landon Cube makes music, it not only reaches his fans, but it also speaks to him. His single “Makeup” is a testament to that. The woozy cut is packed with emotion as Landon coos, “Your silence speaks as loud as my screams.” It’s a direct reflection of how Landon felt at the moment he penned the soon to be hit. “I had been living in LA for a couple months but had been back home to visit,” he recalls of the song’s genesis. “When I was back home, it brought up old memories that were pivotal to the vibe of the song. It’s totally me and what my music is…everything I am as an artist.”

While “Makeup,” will set the stage for what’s to come from Landon Cube, other songs like the Lil Skies-assisted “17” deliver a hindsight understanding where life can take you in just a few years. “I came back to LA and was just thinking about the past stuff, and one of the lines is, ‘Girl we ain’t 17,’” he expresses. “It’s about being onto bigger and better things.”

Landon Cube has already secured a solid following based upon his honest and heartfelt music, and the next phase in his career will bring more of that to the forefront. “I just want to be able to keep making music and keep getting better, honestly,” he humbly advises. “And have people relate to it and be on board with it along the way.”

Releaser

RELEASER

RELEASE(R) is a four piece rock band from Chicago with members that share one simple purpose in mind, to write the best songs possible.

Rebel Rampage

REBEL RAMPAGE

“Los Angeles protest rock power trio, Rebel Rampage, recently released their debut album Divided We Fall feat. Angelo Moore (Fishbone) and Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara).  Armed with words and music to resist oppression by the government and inspire change for equality and justice, they are galvanizing the public to engage in the democratic process by upholding civil and constitutional rights, and enforce accountability for the actions of those in power. The ever-expanding list of topical issues addressed range from immigration and women’s rights to free press, climate change, and the failings of the U.S. health care system. Rebel Rampage feels that rock music recalling the likes of Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, and Rage Against The Machine blended into a current sound and format provide the best framework for this kind of musical protest.”

SWEETIE

SWEETIE

Sweetie is here with a sugar rush that’ll leave you wanting more! Formed in 2019, this Chicago three-piece combines the hooks and emotional dynamics of the Distillers with the guttural edge of early rock and roll. Sweetie is just what the doctor ordered.

DEB NEVER

Listening to Deb Never doesn’t trigger just one emotion. Her day-dreamy melodies and raw voice paired with porous guitar riffs and unexpected kick drum beats make for a grungy sound that could only come from one place, Washington. The LA transplant cites a wide range of references from Three6Mafia to Nirvana. Mr Nobody is her newest track and it will either make you cry, or make you feel like you’re on drugs.

DOMINIC FIKE

Dominic Fike is aware of the demand that’s mounted for him to put his music online ever since he posted a batch of self-produced bedroom demos to Soundcloud in 2017, and then swiftly pulled them down. “People are mad at me. It’s like owing your friend money,” says the 22-year-old. “You can’t really talk to them about anything else until they get it.” Fike wasn’t really aware of the buzz that had accumulated nearly overnight until he finished serving a jail sentence earlier this year. While on house arrest for three months, Dominic wrote, produced, and recorded a set of songs in a friend’s bedroom, some of which would later release onDon’t Forget About Me, Demos. The demos are a rare glimpse at an artist on the precipice of ubiquity, one so specifically him, notable for his self-assured singing, dynamic instrumentation and compelling songwriting. “3 Nights” sets the tone for Don’t Forget About Me, Demos, an effortless slice of pop with a tropical bent that coasts on acoustic guitars and a Fike’s elastic, singsong flow. The rest is a composite of his influences filtered through his artistic lens: “Westcoast Collective” takes cues from Weezer, all spidery rock guitars and intermingling vocal harmonies, while “King of Everything” harnesses both the breezy beach-rock and angst of Sublime, a diarist rumination on ruling a domain when you find yourself alone.

VIRGIL DONATI BAND

Known for his fast and highly technical drummer skills, Virgil is widely recognized as one of the most dedicated and technically advanced drummers of all time, with a lengthy career both solo and involvement with groups Planet X, Icefish, With Ring Of Fire and more.

JOE RIAN THE A.M. DRINKERS

Rock Falls Illinois transplant Joe Rian and his band the A.M.Drinkers have been making waves the last few years. Working songs, twangy songs, steel mill songs, lovers leaving songs. Known for their live shows.

INSECT ARK

Formed in late 2011, Insect Ark began as a one-woman solo project
of bassist/multi-instrumentalist/composer Dana Schechter. From its
inception, Insect Ark has been about creating music that transports,
both physically and psychologically. Schechter made three solo Insect
Ark records (Collapsar 7”, Long Arms 10”, Portal/Well LP); In 2015,
drummer/analog electronics builder Ashley Spungin joined the project,
and together they made 2018’s Marrow Hymns and toured extensively as
a duo/band. As of July 2019, Insect Ark returns to the primary model of
Schechter working as a solo artist, with live & studio collaborations on
a per-project basis.
Schechter has worked as a collaborator for studio / stage with M. Gira’s
Angels of Light, Zeal & Ardor, Wrekmeister Harmonies, Gnaw, Bee and
Flower, Gifthorse, and more.

ORANSSI PAZUZU

Since birth, Finnish psychedelic black metal experimenters ORANSSI PAZUZU have never been satisfied to stick with a formula. Each album has seen the band expand upon its previous incarnation and then, like a supernova, blow it up and transform again into something recognizable but completely new.

Having partnered with 20 Buck Spin in North America and Svart Records in Europe, in 2013, the band issued their Valonielu LP, an album of timeless creative immensity that was met with ubiquitous praise throughout the world and solidified the band’s position as one of the most forward-thinking and interesting metal bands. ORANSSI PAZUZU returned in 2016 with their fourth album, the mind-bending Värähtelijä; an album which continues in this vein, giving the band much more room to diverge and explore the vast regions of hypnotic progressive psychedelia and the nebulous outer limits of Scandinavian black metal. Songs explode with radiant ultraviolet color and plunge into the deep black darkness of innermost consciousness. If Valonielu was the creation of a universe, Värähtelijä is the magnification and expansion of its infinite boundaries.

Both albums showed the boundless enormity and remarkable uniqueness that ORANSSI PAZUZU alone create. No other band can bend these genres into such an extraordinarily cohesive whole. The band has also since issued a special two-song EP titled Kevät/Värimyrsky, and reissued their first three albums — Kosmonument, Farmakologinen, and Muukalainen Puhuu – while the next chapter continues to be created..

Equipoise

EQUIPOISE

Equipoise was founded in August of 2015 by Nick Padovani as a result of he and Zach Hohn writing riffs in the summer. Nick began transcribing these riffs into Guitar Pro in August, which is where he began to start adding instruments and ultimately complete songs. After a few months of playing around with ideas, Nick had written up a full album’s worth of material.

Nick presented this material to Stevie Boiser and Hugo Karout, who obviously agreed to join, and Equipoise soon became a reality. Jimmy Pitts also joined the ranks of Equipoise in late June of 2016. We also joined The Artisan Era in late July.

Our EP, Birthing Homunculi is out now!

As of 2017, we have picked up the guitar master himself, Phil Tougas!
As of late 2017, we have picked up drumming maestro Chason Westmoreland, as well as guitar wizard Sanjay Kumar.

The full length is due out mid 2018.
