Hastings

HASTINGS

At the young age of sixteen Hastings moved to Nashville, Tennesee to pursue his music career. The multi-instrumentalist artist first began rolling out his EP last August releasing his first-ever single “Heart’s Not In It.” This is a funky guitar-based track with lively synths. In addition, the track is about an unrequited love that was short-lived. Hastings says, “I just want you to pull emotion from the music. It can be whatever you’re feeling. Maybe after you listen, you’ll want to call your ex… A lot of these songs are about breakups, relationships, and life. Maybe you can relate to some of my experiences, I’m just sharing what I go through.”

He made his live debut supporting The Band CAMINO at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. Since then, he has hit the road supporting The Band CAMINO along with special guest flor for The Tour CAMINO. Behind the scenes, he also helped to co-write The Band Camino’s single “Roses.” – Nadya Hubbard, The Garnette Report

Little Image

LITTLE IMAGE

little image is a Dallas based group that started playing music together for eight years and throughout that near-decade, the band morphed from a group of perpetually online suburban teens who were obsessed with underground indie rock and had no idea what they wanted to be into the tight-knit outfit you see today. While many young artists had their careers derailed in 2020 due to COVID, it actually managed to save little image, which was gearing up to announce itself to the world without realizing the members needed more time for reflection.

The Dallas-based alt-pop trio released their debut album SELF TITLED earlier this year via Hollywood Records.  Produced in partnership with Chad Copelin (Sufjan Stevens, 5 Seconds Of Summer), the album featured songs “LUNGS BURN,” “BLUE,” and “OUT OF MY MIND,” the latter garnering millions of streams ahead of the album’s release and broke the Top 20 on Alternative Airplay, was featured in a Hulu ad, and secured the group for On The Verge – ALT, iHeart’s premiere breaking artist program. After opening for Panic! At The Disco, Colony House, and more.

Sam Tompkins

SAM TOMPKINS

Combining heart-on-sleeve lyrical immediacy with laid-back R&B pop stylings, East Sussex-born singer/songwriter Sam Tompkins spent his formative years busking before Island Records signed him in 2019. Often switching between a soulful falsetto and an earthier delivery of lines about day-to-day city life by switching accents, Tompkins’ vocal style clearly displayed his southern English roots. After releasing his debut EP, Coloured Emotions, in 2017, he made his major-label debut with the EP From My Sleeve to the World in 2019. His 2021 cover of Bruno Mars‘ “Talking to the Moon” was sampled later the same year by Jnr Choi on the international hit “To the Moon,” just a few months before Tompkins presented his fourth EP, 2022’s Who Do You Pray To.

Chepang

CHEPANG

“Misanthropic dissonance of mangled guitars, demented shrieks and schizophrenic drumming.”Chepang is a Nepali grindcore band from USA. The band formed in 2016 and are originally from Nepal and have been residing in the states for the last decade. Coming from a war torn country during the time of their arrival in the US, the band members shared common frustration and anger towards the political turmoil in Nepal. Although things have improved and there is no more war, there is still a massive influx of corruption and politics that still hamper Nepal. Not a day in a month goes by without some sort of National Curfew done by various political parties and their agenda, which shuts down the government. Nepali citizens are consistently left without electricity for 16 hours because of the corrupt government selling all of its natural water resources to India and china. This frustration is what has bonded Chepang together. The first hand experience and memories of civil war from the past and the hopelessness of their motherland’s present story is what makes them more fearsome on the way they deliver their music. Relentless energy that echoes violence and hope together with messages from their homeland as well as the immigrant life that they have adapted to. As the band ages and they are broadening towards more genre bending records bringing diversity into grind-core and a type of story telling that resonates worldwide. Get ready for the Chepang Grindcore aka “IMMIGRINDCORE”.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE “QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE”

Queens of the Stone Age is the debut studio album by American rock band Queens of the Stone Age, released by Loosegroove Records on September 22, 1998. It was primarily written and recorded in April 1998 by founding member Josh Homme and his former Kyuss bandmate Alfredo Hernández, with Hernández playing drums and Homme singing and playing the rest of the instruments. Homme also produced the album alongside Joe Barresi. Bassist Nick Oliveri, also a former member of Kyuss, would join the band by the time of the album’s release. Queens of the Stone Age received generally positive reviews from critics, who placed it in the stoner rock genre and drew comparisons to krautrock bands such as Neu! and Can, as well as to Kyuss and other metal bands.

Primal Code

PRIMAL CODE

It starts with a rumble and ends with devastation. Primal Code are a death metal bulldozer on a mission to level the world.

Formed in 2021 in Chicago, Illinois, this trio of dogged diehards have swiftly mutated into one of the heaviest and most distinctive bands in the modern death metal scene. Poised to release their debut album, vocalist/guitarist Gene Marino, bassist Will Lindsay (ex-Indian/Middian) and drummer James Farn were always determined to forge their own path through the underground.

“It really started with our obsession with Bolt Thrower and how a lot of bands didn’t have that same vibe. ‘Low-speed whiplash’ was the term that was kicked around at first that we stuck to a lot. Being a three-piece has also really become a big part of what we are aiming for. Less is more, always.”

For those that crave the arcane magic of old school death metal, Primal Code are already speaking your language. Inspired by the grotesque greats of the ‘90s, from Death and Obituary to Napalm Death and Skinless, the Chicagoan trio have conjured something unique and refreshingly foul. After one demo, one EP (2023’s Subliminal Master) and a split release (with thrashcore crew The Gavel), they signed a deal with esteemed underground imprint Relapse Records, and began work on their first full-length album.

And here it is: Opaque Fixation. On what is an exhilarating and remarkable debut, Primal Code slam down a new blueprint for abominable aggression, crushing everything in their path with militant, mid-paced brutality. Recorded at Bricktop Studios in their hometown, feral anthems like Anapsid, Totem and Extinction give the old school spirit a jolting dose of cutting edge ferocity, with a powerful production, dazzling artwork from Chicago tattooist Dan Gardea, and gleefully twisted, mind-expanding lyrics from the depths of Gene Marino’s brain.

“The new songs are heavy, unrelenting, claustrophobic, and tense!” says Gene. “With the lyrics, I try to keep everything as vague and tongue-in-cheek as possible. They usually start with most intense feelings and possibilities we can think of. Tech-apocalypse, sleep paralysis, subconscious control/loss of control, the very delicate line between having a functioning society and becoming warring cannibal tribes…”

Newly signed to esteemed underground imprint Relapse Records, Primal Code are making death metal that cuts deep and causes as much chaos as possible. An avalanche of riffs, from the mean streets of Chicago, direct to your door. Opaque Fixation is coming to wreck the place. Get ready.

“I think we want the same as every band,” Gene concludes. “We really like writing, recording, and releasing music together. We like it a lot! So we’re hoping to keep doing that for as long as we can. Now that the LP is coming out, we want to play more shows with it, to travel, and to introduce it to as many people as we can.”

sacramentum2020

SACRAMENTUM

SACRAMENTUM was formed by Nisse Karlén (vocals/guitar) in the summer of 1990 under the name of Tumulus. After a short period of time Anders Brolycke joined in on guitar and an apocalyptic seed of creative outburst had started to grow. The first official recording were made in the end of 1992 and just before the release of the demotape called “Sedes Impiorum” the band name was changed to SACRAMENTUM.
In February 1994 SACRAMENTUM went to Unisound Studio and recorded the self-financed five track promo-CD “Finis Malorum”, which was re-released by Adipocere Records about one year later. “Finis Malorum” established the band firmly in the world-wide black/death metal underground scene. People got their eyes open for SACRAMENTUM and realised that the band was a force to reckon with.
During 1994 SACRAMENTUM went through some line-up changes and Nicklas Rudolfsson (Runemagick, Heavydeath, The Funeral Orchestra) joined in on drums and Nisse shifted from six to four strings. With this three-piece line-up SACRAMENTUM went back to Unisound in June 1995 to record their full-length debut. It was entitled “Far Away From the Sun” and wasn’t released by Adipocere Records until June 1996.
In spring 1997 SACRAMENTUM signed with Century Media Records. The second full-length album ”The Coming Of Chaos” was recorded in June 1997.
In September 1998 SACRAMENTUM recorded the third album “Thy Black Destiny”.

The Fighting Side

THE FIGHTING SIDE

St. Louis honkytonk rock ‘n’ roll act The Fighting Side is making waves throughout the Midwest, and the status quo of country music has been given notice.

Frontman Brad Jackson makes it all clear. “Each one of us has been doing this for a long time, but in different musical realms. Some of us cut teeth on punk rock, some of us on bluegrass or surf rock, and I’m a traditional country guy with a long punk rock history it all matters.” The styles each member contributes is distinct, but the resulting sound is something altogether innovative, yet familiar in the way that defines songs you can’t get out of your head. Screaming telecaster lead guitar from David Newman and the walking bass lines of Ben Gastman, combined with Jackson’s deep baritone growl, say it’s something between country music and southern rock, while the punk/blues backbone from behind the kit of Timmy Kendrick and the guitar of Seth Barnhart transform the output into something that’s really not country music at all.

The songs this act delivers, hard-hitting in both arrangement and lyrical content, are the carefully crafted art pieces of a group that clearly has a formula down pat. “Seth and I have been friends since 5th grade”, says Jackson, “so there’s a definite element of understanding between us. Sometime I deliver an idea, a one liner or a melody that’s been banging around in my head, and it’s like he just automatically knows where I’m heading with it. That makes it easy, and we take those ideas to the full band and watch them grow as each of us adds a piece of ourselves to the tunes. Having the incredibly cool lineup that we have is the secret recipe  Everybody in the band writes the songs together.” And while the songs are the heart of this act, the banter and the obvious clout and decades of experience they display on stage are the edge.

While working on a new album (hopefully hitting in mid-2024), The Fighting Side is currently touring on their sophomore release Hellbent on Hardtimes, available on iTunes, Spotify, and wherever you buy music online.

When this act comes to town, you put your damn pants on and go see what honkytonk insurgent rebel rock ‘n’ roll looks like if you know what’s good for you.

Newport continued to develop his sound, releasing 2019’s Tommy Gun EP and 2021’s Ultra Mango EP and Liquid EP. He’s received plenty of critical acclaim along the way from The FADER, Complex, Hypebeast, High Snobiety, Pigeons & Planes, PAPER, Lyrical Lemonade, COLORS & more. There, he picked up the guitar and taught himself how to produce music on his computer. Inspired by a mix of early-2000s bands like MGMT, the Killers, and Phoenix, he developed his own funky, psychedelic style of pop, framing his falsetto vocals in bass, guitar, keyboards, and electronic grooves. He quickly released an impressive catalog independently. More tracks followed, as did musical placements on shows like Search Party, Ballers, Expecting Amy, an Apple iPad commercial and What/If.

Hällas

Hällas

Hällas are a Swedish progressive rock band formed in 2011 in Jönköping, Småland, by Tommy Alexandersson and Kasper Eriksson. Currently based in Linköping, Östergötland, they play a blend of progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal inspired by 1970s bands, resulting in a genre that they call “adventure rock”

The band is named after the main character of the stories they tell in their lyrics; Hällas is a knight living in parallel, medieval universe in which “religion similarly, albeit not necessarily the ones we recognize from here, are very prevalent and where treacherous tyrants reign lands on the verge of the apocalypse and where seers have gained so much strength that they can dictate the future and the past
