STRANGE ARRANGEMENT
STRAY FROM THE PATH
It is no coincidence that listeners of STRAY FROM THE PATH will often have a difficult time confining them to a specific genre. The have made it a point to remain unpredictable, intricate, and intelligent. Listeners can expect their music to surpass the gratuitous and/or contrived music that is all too common today, and instead perform articulate songs that refuse to compromise their precision, honesty, and genuine desire to impress. This aggressive Alt-Hardcore outfit out of Long Island, NY closed out a very successful 2010 with an East Coast U.S. tour alongside The Chariot and Cancer Bats. Following the run, the band will close out a productive 2010 with a stint of headlining shows. The group’s highly acclaimed album, Make Your Own History, is now available.
Stray from the Path strive at making their own style of metal, fused with hardcore, rock, and countless other influences they come across. This can easily be distinguished from most of the cookie cutter music that has been drowning the scene over the last couple of years.
Stray From The Path played their first show after only a month of rehearsals, and soon after found themselves filling opening slots for bands such as Sky Came Falling, As I Lay Dying, A Life Once Lost, Curl Up And Die, Misery Signals, Between The Buried And Me, On Broken Wings, and many other national recording acts. This large-scale exposure aided Stray from the Path in gaining a steady following amongst the local scene before ultimately signing with Sumerian Records to take them to that next level.
STRAY TOASTERS
STREET BRATS
The Street Brats are a Chicago punk rock band, plain and simple. They do not like being generalized into any specific category, but their music seems to fall somewhere between the lines of more ‘77 influenced punk like The Vibrators and the Ramones with hints of harder bands like Slaughter and the Dogs and Stiff Little Fingers. No one can deny how catchy and anthemic the Street Brats music is, with tinges of Mike Ness and Joe Strummer as well. They are regarded as the best punk combo to come out of Chicago’s mean streets since the glory days of Naked Raygun, with enough hooks, guitar twists, and sing-a-longs to satisfy anyone that’s bored with all the watered down retro crap that’s passing as ‘77 punk these days.

STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS
“Standing on the shoulders of giants” (Latin: nanos gigantum humeris insidentes) is a Western metaphor meaning “One who develops future intellectual pursuits by understanding the research and works created by notable thinkers of the past.” The band Standing on the Shoulders of Giants was formed in 2007 originally as a hardcore band and after a few member changes the band developed into more of a “classic rock with a modern twist” sound and recorded their debut album with drummer Chris Foss and guitarist Nick Raducha. SOTSOG has had a rollercoaster ride with many ups and downs along with a new drummer,Justin Knight, joining and Nick Raducha stepping away from the band…but recently SOTSOG came to a stop to regroup and write some new material with current members Jacob Taus,Alex Garibay,Jimmy Wernes,Tara Murphy and Justin Knight. The debut album,”With Anticipation”, was a success with the bands fanbase and new fans alike and now they hope to take it up a notch with a follow up album tentatively titled,”Ultra Euphonic”. The new album still has it’s ‘classic/modern rock’ vibe but also plays into a groove-ier/blues-ier/jazz-ier vibe in hopes to help the audience feel the music a little more. Stay on the lookout for the new stuff and we’d also like to give thanks for your on going support.

SPARE CHANGE
Spare Change was originally formed on the south-side of Chicago in 1989. The band plays their own unique style of raw hardcore punk / metal crossover. Through hard time and many lineup changes singer Bryan ‘Chump Change’ Robertson has managed to keep the beast alive, putting out over 20 releases in the process. The current lineup of Bryan on vocals, David Grek on guitar, Al Salad on bass and Fabian Arroyo on drums is the strongest to date. In 2013 the band put out their first release with its current lineup, Crash and Burn. This EP contains four tracks of straight up, ripping crossover and is the first sign that after 25 years Spare Change is still as relevant and as they were when they first started making a rauncous noise back in ’89.
Spare Change has had the pleasure to share the stage with the likes of D.R.I., Dead Kennedys, Grim Reaper, Riot, Black Death, Iron Reagan (Municiple Waste), The Addicts, The Casualties, Verbal Abuse, Fang, Toxic Reasons, Raw Power, The Effigies, CJ Ramone, The Mentors, Macabre, Helstar, Poison Idea, M.D.C., Necrophagia, Venom (inc.) and many others. SPEEDFREAK
Speedfreak is a Chicago-based heavy metal band, formed in the summer of 2006. Founding members Kevin (guitars) and Tom (vocals) solidified their rhythm section with Balow (drums) and Dirty Steve (bass) in 2008, and haven’t looked back since. Their blend of the old-school songwriting styles of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Black Sabbath and the heavier styles of more modern bands like Pantera, Metallica and Black Label Society has earned them a loyal following all over the Chicago area. After putting out a series of demos and an EP, they released their first full-length album, “Loaded”, in the summer of 2012, and followed up with the “Baptized In Gasoline” EP in 2013. They are currently playing all over the Midwest, including opening slots in support of national bands like Shadows Fall, Kill Devil Hill, Black Water Rising, & Texas Hippie Coalition; and hope to tour in the near future. So roll with them or get run over, either way they’ll see you on the road!
