Titus Andronicus

TITUS ANDRONICUS

The Most Lamentable Tragedy[hereafter TMLT] is the fourth studio album by Titus Andronicus [hereafter +@] and the band’s debut for Merge Records. A rock opera in five acts, it will see release on July 28, 2015, as a digital download, double CD, and triple LP.

The central narrative of TMLT (“a work of fiction,” claims singer/songwriter Patrick Stickles) concerns an unnamed protagonist whom we meet in deep despair. Following an encounter with his own doppelgänger (an enigmatic stranger, identical in appearance though opposite in disposition), long held secrets are revealed, sending our protagonist on a transformative odyssey, through past lives and new loves, to the shocking revelation that the very thing that sustains him may be the thing to destroy him.

TMLTwas produced by frequent collaborator Kevin McMahon and +@ lead guitarist Adam Reich.  The core band is rounded out by the long-standing rhythm section of Eric Harm (drums) and Julian Veronesi (bass) plus rookie guitarist Jonah Maurer. Joining in throughout are pianist Elio DeLuca and violinist Owen Pallett, beside a cast of guests representing some of New York’s most exciting bands (The So So Glos, Baked, Bad Credit No Credit, Lost Boy?, etc.).

TMLTis both the crown jewel of the band’s discography and the legend that contextualizes their entire body of work. It reveals that +@ are what hardcore fans have said they are for years, and what the world must now recognize them to be: not merely the greatest rock and roll band of this era, but one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.

TOM FULLER BAND

“Kick ass and take names” – it’s a saying that they like to use in Chicago, the birthplace of the Tom Fuller Band, to describe how to get the job done. Not in an Al Capone way you understand. Although Tom’s grandmother did work for the notorious gangster. But rather by enlisting some of the biggest names in the music industry to produce Fuller’s third studio album Ask. On first listen you can…’t help but be decadently seduced by the voodoo drums of the opening track Lovers, hooked on the impossibly contagious title track Ask and carried away by the closing magical escapism of Garden Dreaming Days. Ask is an album that continually manages to surprise, challenge, captivate and inspire. Tom Fuller is a maverick and a troubadour. He’s also the same guy who, as a kid buying his first Paul McCartney album, never imagined that he would wind up recording the new album with two of his band members, Abe Laboriel, Jr. and Brian Ray. Produced by the studio maestro Rick Chudacoff, (Alison Krauss, Smokey Robinson), and mixed by Cenzo Townsend and Dave Bascombe (U2, Bon Jovi, Kaiser Chiefs), the widescreen cinematic vision of Fuller’s music continues to flourish, as was evident on his 2005 debut album Chasing An Illusion and 2009’s subsequent sophomore album Abstract Man. After trailblazing a path across America, the addition of new band members, and recording in both LA and Chicago, comes this life affirming album that is at once emotional and engaging. ‘It’s been a one hell of a journey,” says Fuller. “The new album’s like a songbook that’s accompanied me all along the trail. Every track means so much to me. I think it’s my strongest collection of songs to date.” Hailing from the Windy City, the Tom Fuller Band embodies the soul and creative energy of the city’s rich musical heritage – from Chicago’s finest rhythm and blues, through Cheap Trick to late period Wilco. The songs embrace Fuller’s distinctive blend of innovative melodies and chord structures, alongside lyrics that engage, uplift and resonate with passion and truth. “a fresh rock album with a lot of surprises! ” – www.germanblogs.de “for those who are waiting for the first shafts of sunlight, we can advice this album!” – www.metal-inside.de “9 of 12 Points / With ‘Ask’ and for a fan of Mainstream Rock the Tom Fuller Band has released an album which must be definitely put on the top of your shopping list!” – www.soundbase-online.com Tom Fuller Band’s third album, Ask, is quite simply, a great pop record.” – Birmingham Sunday Mercury Fuller can hang and bang with the best of them, but dances away before you can get a bead on him, leading you on swathes of melody to somewhere you always wanted to go. The perfect summer album? Getting there. Only one thing to ask: “Have you got the new Tom Fuller album?” – PowerPlay Fuller’s songs are a mix of dreamy pop and 70s rock guitar. The title track has echoes of Dion, but it’s the sound of the Beatles that permeates much of the album. Shades of Cheap Trick and Tom Petty… this is one for people who like well crafted pop rock.” – Fireworks Magazine

TOXIC TOAST

What do you do when one of your favorite bands of all time just…..disappears? Well, this group of guys from the Windy City of Chicago, Illinois took matters into their own hands. Consisting of various members of current and past bands in the Chicago scene, Toxic Toast is set to fill the void that has been left by the departure of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones from the music world. While there is only one Mighty Mighty Bosstones, this group of diehard Bosstones fans from the midwest come as close as you can get to the live show energy that ‘Tones fans are used to without having Dicky, Joe and Johnny Vegas on the stage.

Comprised of Katz (ex-Drawing A Blank), Richo (ex-Jinxpack, Counterpunch), Eric (Counterpunch), Greg (ex-Drawing A Blank), Kevin, Brian and Mike (ex-The 9 Spot, Ready…Break) and our Bosstone Josh, Toxic Toast has quite a bit of collective experience performing. Hopefully this has become evident as Toxic Toast has already begun unveiling the heat on Chicago and has even gained recognition from the boys in the Bosstones themselves.

Fear not ladies and gentlemen, while the Mighty Mighty Bosstones have gone away (only for a little while, one would hope!), Toxic Toast is here to say….”The Devil Is Back, So Girls Dry Your Tears!!!”

TRAIN COMPANY

Train Company is a dirty, dirty blues rock band from Chicago. The group formed in 2008 and has since toured the U.S. and shared the stage with acts like Blues Traveler, Counting Crows, Owen, Maps & Atlases, Tokyo Police Club, Crash Kings, Blind Melon, and Cory Chisel & The Wondering Sons. Train Company’s second full length album “The Remains of An Effort” was self-released on August 14, 2012.

“After the first listen to their latest full-length release The Remains of An Effort, it’s clear that Train Company is more than a blues band (credit vidovic here). The group crafts a diverse multi-layered sound with discernible traces of jazz, pop and even orchestral arrangements. -NPR

THOUGHT CRUSADE

THREAT SIGNAL

Threat Signal arose from the filthy, industrialized east end of Hamilton Ontario Canada in late 2003. A detuned, syncopated, melodic metal machine, Threat Signal combines the complexity of thrash metal, with a more contemporary groove sound involving technical rhythms, and melodic musical passages.

Before the band had played a single live show, their home recordings generated a significant interest online. The song ‘Rational Eyes’ hit #1 on the international independent music website GarageBand.com and remained in the top position for over 2 years. This prompted many record labels to take notice. One label in particular fit perfectly with the bands vision, and in 2005 Threat Signal inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

Threat Signal’s debut album ‘Under Reprisal’ was recorded with producer Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory/Arkaea). “Its without a doubt my favorite album of 2006,” Wolbers remarks, “A mix of Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, Soilwork… a true Canadian phenomenon!” Veteran mixer Tue Madsen added the final touches to the album and it was released internationally in August 2006. Embraced by fans and critics, perhaps the most meaningful praise for the album came in the form of the Canadian Recording of the Year award bestowed upon the band in their hometown at the 2006 Hamilton Music Awards.

After supporting Under Reprisal on the road for over 2 years, Threat Signal entered the studio in November 2008. They recorded their second album ‘Vigilance’ with vocalist/producer Jon Howard (Threat Signal/Arkaea). Fellow Canadian Greg Reely was chosen to mix and master the album and it was released under Nuclear Blast Records September 8th 2009.

The third, self-titled Threat Signal album was released under Nuclear Blast records in October 2011. Recorded and produced at Planet Z studios by metal mastermind Zeuss (CHIMAIRA, HATEBREED, ALL THAT REMAINS, THE ACACIA STRAIN, BORN OF OSIRIS, SHADOWS FALL, AGNOSTIC FRONT, ARSIS). Artwork was created by Colin Marks (ORIGIN, SCAR SYMMETRY, SUICIDE SILENCE, EXODUS).

Threat Signal has performed live with Soilwork, All That Remains, Opeth, Hatebreed, Children Of Bodom, Chimaira, Darkest Hour, Mnemic, Protest The Hero, Testament, Saxon, Nevermore, Lordi, Motorhead, Hammerfall, Arch Enemy, The Dillanger Escape Plan, Epica, Eluvitie, Scar Symmetry, The Browning, Kataklysm, and many more…

THREE

THREE BAD JACKS

With the arrival of Three Bad Jack’s new CD Pictures & Memories From Home, the band forcefully asserts themselves as true, renegade rock & roll prophets. From the propulsive, high octane opening track “I’ve Been Around” to the brooding closer “Pricks & Thorns” the album never falters, charting fresh new territory with ebullient authority. Their hard hitting aggression, anchored by a throbbing gutbucket bottom end and topped off with bandleader Elvis Suissa’s passionate vocals, unfailingly pulls the listener in. High impact, soul deep, thoroughly original, this is uncut rock & roll expression that goes upside the head with stunning force. Such a dynamic achievement is the result of a hard earned perspective. One of Los Angeles’ hardest working bands–and biggest club draws–Three Bad Jacks have been pounding it out, non-stop, since the late 20th century. Typically averaging over 250 shows a year, selling out rooms from Hollywood to New York City and headlining on numerous European festivals, the groups’ dedication and rebel spirit have long since been honed to perfection. It rings true in every note that singer-guitarist Suissa, bassist Ruben Ibarra and drummer Adam Jones strike, each of whom display a mastery and understanding of the underground American big beat heritage. Variously labeled in the media as both rockabilly and psychobilly, with Pictures & Memories From Home the band has delivered a genuine rock & roll statement, one that not only expands on previous releases Made of Stone and Crazy in the Head but also rates as an important step forward in the artistic exploration of an increasingly bastardized art form. “I’m really excited about this record.” Suissa said. “It’s a straight-up rock & roll record that draws from that transitional period of the late ’50s-early 60s, but it’s also as modern and original sounding as we could make it.” The album echoes with trace influences from garage primitivism to stomping Deep Southern rockabilly, yet all of it is filtered through the bands own unique prism, resulting in a sound that “original” scarcely begins to cover. Produced by Suissa, mixed by studio veteran Dave Schiffman (Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down), mastered by Howie Weinberg (Clash, Iggy, Ramones) and featuring key contributions, on keyboards and strings, from Rami Jaffe (Wallflowers, Foo Fighters), the disc has a gloriously full, unruly tone, yet shifts to tender balladry with effortless, fully realized ease (striking examples here are the bluesy “Beautiful” and the heartfelt family-themed “Noah & Jacob’s Song”). While use of the word “mature” may seem the contradictory to Three Bad Jacks international reputation as rock & roll wild-men, their mix of the sensitive and savage is impressive, and the ability to navigate such a broad musical spectrum is even more so. Again, it’s all about experience, and with records sales topping 150,000 to date, numerous songs placed on television and video game soundtracks and having long since graduated from selling out hometown venues like the Troubadour, House of Blues, Galaxy Theater, Fonda-Music Box and Key Club to sharing bills and touring with the likes of Joe Strummer, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dwight Yoakam, Social Distortion and Bouncing Souls, Three Bad Jacks are nothing less than a force of nature. All of that wild bandstand action–and after-hours philosophy–brings them an almost supernatural insight that has critically enhanced the band’s indisputable natural talent. Just one listen to Pictures & Memories From Home will drive that fact home–loud and clear.

THREE BLUE TEARDROPS

Three Blue Teardrops formed in the fall of 1991. A three piece trio of drums, upright bass and guitar, the band began writing and performing original songs that combined elements of 1970’s punk , gut bucket blues, jungle swing, gospel, garage rock, hillbilly jazz and country harmony to the 1950’s style raw rockabilly sounds of our Rock-N-Roll forefathers to create their own contemporary sound that was not stuck in the trappings of rockabilly, psychobilly, punk, blues or any single musical sub genre.

THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD

The brutally heavy death metal of Through the Eyes of the Dead first appeared in June 2003, with the original band lineup of Anthony Gunnels (vocals), Justin Longshore (guitar), Richard Turbeville (guitar), Jeff Springs (bass), and Dayton Cantley (drums). Based in Florence, South Carolina, the guys looked up to acts like At the Gates, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse, influences that could be heard on their debut five-song EP, The Scars of Ages, recorded with Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me). Making quick of things, TTEOTD signed to LoveLost Records by the fall of 2003; the label released their EP the following January, which promptly started a buzz around the metal scene. Shortly after its release, Turbeville exited the band and was replaced within months by guitarist Chris Anderson, who quickly learned the necessary material so the band could head out on dates with labelmates One Dead Three Wounded.

TTEOTD inked a deal with Prosthetic in early summer 2005, though soon after the announcement, Springs and Cantley jumped ship; drummer Josh Kulick and eventually bassist (and former Arsismember) Jake Ososkie joined on in their places. A split album with the Knife Trade appeared that July before their first proper full-length, Bloodlust, was issued in October. TTEOTD stayed on the road for the next year, including spending summer 2006 on the popular Sounds of the Underground tour alongside bands like In Flames and Trivium. Gunnels departed in early 2007, and he was soon replaced by Nate Johnson (ex-Premonitions of War), who made his studio debut on that year’s Malice. Johnson left the fold shortly after the album’s release, and was replaced by Danny Rodriguez, who handled vocal duties on 2010’s hard-hitting Skepsis. In August 2017, TTEOTD issued the single “Hate the Living” in anticipation of the release of their fourth studio long-player, Disomus, which arrived later that October. ~ Corey Apar, Jovi

THY WILL BE DONE

Thy Will Be Done are an American Heavy Metal Band hailing from Providence, RI. The band released their new 6-song EP entitled “Temple” on September 25th, 2012. Known for their DIY approach, the EP was produced and engineered by THY WILL BE DONE, mixed by acclaimed metal producer ZEUSS (Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Soulfly) at Planet Z and is the inaugural release on the band’s own Eye.On Lion Recordings with INgrooves Fontana handling world-wide distribution. Eye.On Lion Recordings is a DIY-style record label designed to release new music, merchandise, as well as other media from the band. The first single, “You, The Apathy Divine”, was officially released through iTunes on June 26th following the band’s performance at the “Orion Music + More” Festival, for which they were hand-picked by the festival curators Metallica.

“Temple” is the band’s third release following 2009’s groundbreaking In Ancient of Days and the critically acclaimed 2007 debut, Was And Is To Come. The Temple EP shows the band expanding on their sound that both peers and press have already described as defying metal sub-genres. In addition to cracking the Top 10 on Billboard Heatseeker charts regionally at #9 and the whirlwind of positive accolades surrounding it’s unveiling; ‘Temple’ was voted Revolver Magazine’s ‘Album Of The Week’.

The first single off the EP, “You, The Apathy Divine” climbed steadily on SiriusXM Liquid Metal’s weekly Top 12 countdown “The Devil’s Dozen” eventually hitting the #1 position for 4 straight weeks. “You, The Apathy Divine” maintained a top requested song for 20+ weeks. Listeners voted it as one of the TOP 12 most requested songs for 2012.

On deciding to pave their way and start their own label, the band’s vocalist and co-writer J Costa commented, “As a band, we’ve always wanted to preserve our expressions as well as the way they reach the listener. It’s important for us to have a fan feel, see, and hear the finished piece as closely to the creative source of energy as possible. Eye.On Lion is a way for us to offer our artistic creations to those who choose to support us and by proxy, excludes a lot of ‘middle-people’.” He added, “Growing up, I’ve always thought about having my own label and could identify with labels like Dischord that seemed to be doing things from a passionate perspective. I also found it inspiring seeing artists like Jack White and Mike Patton, amongst others, as well as bands like Neurosis, Tool and Clutch whom have decided to blaze their own trail in this ever-changing industry. Having worked with Jamey Jasta and his Stillborn label for our first two releases, I was inspired even more to want to maintain the DIY ethos I’ve always had and start this label.” Costa adds “Jamey’s belief in us got us started on this journey. Not only do we consider him Family, but also an inspiration to us.”

THY WILL BE DONE has toured extensively throughout Japan, Europe and the U.K. They have taken to the stage in North American for a plethora of performances including tours supporting the likes of Machine Head, Lamb of God, All That Remains, DevilDriver, Five Finger Death Punch, Hatebreed and Fear Factory just to name a few. Refreshed and invigorated with the release of their new EP, THY WILL BE DONE are ready for the next chapter. Tour dates and additional updates will be coming soon.
