For the better part of the last 15 years, the duo of Max Dameron (guit/vox) and Sam Ford (drums/vox) have been too weird and too wild for this lame-ass planet. After enjoying vagabond stints living in Portland, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, they now call Detroit home. Here they rebuild, out of the scraps and wreckage of the 21st century, something which casts aside any rules or adherence to banal tropes. Specializing in the unexpected, Max and Sam have wrought an individual sound that’s as much post-Melvins sludge punk as it is futurist prog metal. Their forthcoming self-titled debut, recorded in 2022 at High-Bias in Detroit, puts on display the fruits of their metamorphosis. From the soaring triumphal fuzz of “Uncanny Valley” or the sweep and thrust of “House of Butterflies” their craft is precise, they’re just making up their own shapes to sculpt. Times change and artists mature: now under the name PSYCHIC TRASH, Ford and Dameron come to Riding Easy Records as veterans turning a fresh page, reinvigorated at the prospect of forging a new path and the beneficiaries of about a decade and a half’s slog through the underground. New York native Marlon Craft worked for years on his music before sharing his heady, lyrical rap. Gravitating towards an instrumental style that incorporated both rugged golden-age East Coast hip-hop influences and jazz-touched live instrumentation, Craft’s politically conscious lyrics and social questioning were the driving force behind his 2019 studio debut, Funhouse Mirror, and its 2021 follow-up, How We Intended.
Marlon Craft grew up in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, the son of a jazz musician father. He spent his teenage years playing basketball and ravenously absorbing hip-hop sounds, and in college he began making music of his own. In 2015, while finishing college, he self-released his first mixtape, Pieces. He followed it the next year with the so, what are you doing? EP and singles like “Workin'” and “Reason.” Craft’s style developed over the course of these releases, and his technical abilities sharpened on 2017 mixtape The Tunnel’s End. In 2019, he signed on with Sony affiliate Same Plate Entertainment for the release of his politically charged studio debut, Funhouse Mirror. The album’s lyrics unpacked issues of racism, classism, and wealth disparity and featured cameo appearances from Ricky Motion, Dizzy Wright, and others. After garnering the attention of the underground rap scene with collaborations featuring the likes of Paris Price, Senite, femdot., Ausar, Stoic, Pilotkid, and many others, Kayo is looking to be one of the rising stars of this era. And from his hard hitting lyricism, infectious vocal arrangements, R&B-esque melodies, and larger than life aura, he is proving to be just that.

The Braided Janes is a three piece, Latin Alternative band from Chicago, IL.
Founded by family members Jessica Rodriguez (vocals, keys, guitar), wife Juny Alvarez (drums, percussion), and brother-in-law Andrew Doyle (bass, electric guitar), The Braided Janes have made an undeniable impact in the Latin scene with their statement-making music and shared vision for social change.
Bilingual and multicultural, their music transcends through language and genre barriers to create a unique sound of their own. Their powerful debut album addressed important topics such as gun violence, femicide, and the war on immigrants and POC, and the song “Fuego,” featured on the 2019 project, achieved attention from NPR, which included the track as one of their Best Latin Alternative Songs of 2019.
In March 2022 the band traveled to Minca Colombia to record their 2nd studio album, “Renacer” (Reborn) with Grammy award winning producer Christian Castagno of Sonido Selva Studio ( (Iggy Pop, Bomba Estéreo, Arcade Fire, Systema Solar, The Tom Tom Club) “Renacer” is a Latin roots album which braids a new wave of sounds into the eclectic, musical syntax of The Braided Janes.
The rhythmic and upbeat album best described as, “Tropi-alt rock” features seven songs all in Spanish. No Puedo Más was the first single released late 2022 followed by Mi Canto, Paraíso and their latest single Por Una Mujer released June 30th in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. The full length album Renacer will be released September 22nd, 2023 on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms and the official album release party will be September 23rd at the National Museum of Mexican Art, Pilsen, Chicago. The Braided Janes are currently on their first ever, Corazón Migrante U.S Tour 2023 with performances in over a dozen cities throughout the U.S. alongside an incredible visual display of art, featuring 40 paintings of various mediums, two paper mâché sculptures, and a fashion show, all created by the CORAZÓN MIGRANTE collective of multidisciplinary artists of Mexican descent in the United States with the goal of highlighting the vibrancy found within the Mexican migrant community in the U.S. The Braided Janes’ Jessica Rodriguez is the artist representing Chicago.

Led by guitarist/vocalist Andrew Lee, RIPPED TO SHREDS emerge from the West Coast underground with their ferocious new album, 劇變 (Jubian). The death metal trailblazers unleash their most fully realized and visceral work yet. Recorded and mixed by Lee in his home studio and mastered by Damian Herring at Subterranean Watchtower, 劇變 (Jubian) proves to be RIPPED TO SHREDS at their most focused and refined.
The album bursts wide open with “Violent Compulsion for Conquest,” an elegantly dark, new kind of chainsaw sound teeming with acidic vocals gnashing out lyrics inspired by the Mukden Incident. From its lightning-flash solos to those immensely killer echoing “Ough!”s, this absolute scather, according to Lee, was born to lead. Elsewhere, longtime RIPPED TO SHREDS fans will find the latest chapter of the ongoing ‘Sun Moon Holy Cult’ saga to be its most thrilling episode thus far. One of the album’s most impressive and catchiest tracks,“漢奸 (Racetraitor),” represents that “straight-up melodeath” banger Lee says he’s always wanted to produce while also giving vent to his experience as a minority in America. You can also catch him every Saturday night hosting the “G-spot mic” at Reggie’s Rock Club located in the South Loop, and if you’re thinking a rock club doesn’t sound like a place for comedy, you’re right it’s not, that’s what makes it enjoyable. Marc always brings fun and loose energy to any room big or small with his charismatic style and smooth tone delivery. We teach everything from keyboard to bass guitar, songwriting, and vocals for all levels. At School of Rock, students can perform live shows and develop their musical ability in a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Glenbrook offers a few great spots for students to take the skills they learned at School of Rock and go on to perform at local venues such as the iconic Landmark Inn, built in 1885, which has dining and live music.

Giulia is an independent singer-songwriter from the Bay Area who is currently based in Chicago. Their music has been heavily influenced by their background in multiple instruments and their exposure to rock and folk from a young age. Giulia’s songs are buoyed by emotive and captivating melodies and lyrics that often touch on subjects such as nostalgia, queerness, and love in its many forms. Her first album, “Still,” was self-produced and recorded in the attic of her parents’ home during the early months of the pandemic. The Pretty EP was released in May of 2022.

Hannah Frey is a Chicago-based vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist who charms listeners with emotive lyricism, melodies that linger long after listening, and a voice noted for its “retro-smooth tonality (Little Village Magazine).”
Her sound is a melting pot of midwestern rural and urban influences. While some might call it folk, Americana, or indie pop, Hannah lovingly refers to the music she makes as rock music for sensitive people.
With the help of her dynamic band, Hannah’s intention is to make space for listeners to find joy, connection, and humor in the contrast of life’s seasons as she performs at venues in Chicago & beyond.

Hailing from Chicago’s south suburbs, Bre Morrissey’s music seamlessly blends candid, vulnerable lyrics with genre-defying production, offering a contemporary perspective within pop music. Her cinematic soundscapes create an expansive musical journey that consistently captivates, promising an ever-evolving, creatively charged pop experience.
In 2021, Bre released her anticipated debut album “While You’ve Been Gone,” chronicling her transformation from grief and loss after her brother’s passing to newfound resilience. This emotional evolution, intertwined with her exploration of romance and self-discovery, enriches her musical narrative.
Post-album release, Bre journeyed to Seoul, South Korea, collaborating with three South Korean producers for her ‘Pining (Reimagined)’ EP alongside Pink Nois. These collaborations resulted in three distinct tracks, each offering a unique rendition of ‘Pining,’ catering to diverse listener preferences.
Currently, Bre is deeply engaged in crafting her highly anticipated sophomore album, drawing from her diverse experiences for fresh sounds and evocative storytelling. Anticipate the unveiling of Bre’s latest musical chapter, poised to resonate profoundly with audiences in the upcoming months.

THE OBSESSED
The Obsessed is a rock band. A FUKKING HARD rock band. Since their formation in 1978, they have become known around the world for their influential contribution to the origins and continued legacy of the doom metal and underground hard rock genres. The distinctive vocals and guitar wizardry of founder and driving force Scott “Wino” Weinrich has left a mark on the world of heavy music that continues to inspire.
The Obsessed gained momentum in the Baltimore/DC area of the USA in the early to mid 1980’s during the height of the hardcore punk movement. Often cited as the band that bridged heavy metal and punk together, the band gained the respect of punk heavy weight contemporaries Black Flag, The Bad Brains, and Minor Threat, to name a few. The attitude and spirit of The Obsessed has led many to regard them as “America’s Motorhead”.
Wino went on to join the doom metal giants Saint Vitus as lead singer on seminal albums including 1986’s ‘Born Too Late’‘. In 1990, The Obsessed came back with their eponymous debut album, “The Obsessed”. This album was quickly followed by 1991’s “Lunar Womb” and 1994’s “The Church Within”. All three of these albums shaped and paved the way for future heavy rock bands and the doom scene as it’s known today. Wino’s gift for prose and his never-ending search for truth and meaning allows his words to hit as heavy as the riffs he plays.
Although The Obsessed went on a hiatus after The Church Within’s release on Columbia records, Wino’s sheer passion and prolific nature led him to pursue many other critically acclaimed projects such as Spirit Caravan, The Hidden Hand, Shrinebuilder and various acoustic releases. Long time fan Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters) specifically asked Wino to perform on Dave’s all-star Probot album, released in 2004. In 2012 Wino rejoined Saint Vitus until the world wide cry for The Obsessed could be denied no longer and in 2016, Wino reunited The Obsessed, once and for all, and has been kicking ass and taking names ever since.
Drummer Brian “Dawg” Costantino joined the band at this time. The band signed to Relapse Records and recorded 2017’s “Sacred”, an album showing The Obsessed back with pure vengeance. Sacred brought the band to venues and festival stages around the world.
In 2022 the band became a four piece with the addition of Chris Angleberger on bass and Jason Taylor on guitar. The band has been touring heavily since and have been seen on USA and European festival stages such as HellFest, Freak Valley Festival, Snowblind Festival and Desert Fest.
The band’s forthcoming album, Gilded Sorrow, set to be released early 2024 on Ripple Music, marks a new chapter in their legacy. The album promises to capture the essence of the band’s classic sound while adding a fresh new atmosphere with a dual guitar attack.
