FLIPPER
Flipper is an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1979, continuing in often erratic fashion until the mid-1990s, then reuniting in 2005. The band influenced a number of grunge,[1] punk rock and noise rock bands. Their slowed-down, bass-driven and heavily distorted style of punk is also considered a key forerunner to sludge, and influenced bands such as the Melvins and Nirvana, whose bass player Krist Novoselic played with the band in the 2000s.
Flipper is celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2019. Original members, Ted Falconi and Steve DePace are reaching out to a host of musicians, singers and bands they have worked with or been associated with, over the course of their long history. Flipper will assemble a variety of different lineups to include some of the great people they have played with and toured with as well as merging with different bands for recording projects and live performances. Plans are currently in the works for shows in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Pacific Northwest, East Coast, as well as the UK and Europe. Other exciting shows and tours are in the works as well.
