ENCYCLOPEDIA BROWN
With a style defined as “classically trained hip hop”, Bolingbrook native Encyclopedia Brown is the quintessential triple threat. He’s a DJ, Producer and Rapper who’s been living the culture and music for over 20 years. He wrote his first rhyme at the age of 11, has battled with legends like Eyedea, Rhymefest and Qwel, and came up during the golden age of Chicago Hip Hop. He was a member of the hip hop collective Giraffe Nuts, and continues to play and DJ throughout the region. He remains a stalwart in the scene, and occasionally serves as Psalm One’s touring DJ.
In 2012, after decades in music, Brown released his first solo effort, Wholesale: Everything Must Flow!!!, which he mixed and engineered himself. Known for possessing an amazing ear for music and a commanding voice, Encyclopedia Brown is a current throwback to great rap artists. He is a multi-layered artist and an incredible party rocker.
