BONGONYA
BONGONYA (formlly Manic Zamboni) offers further evidence that there’s some malevolent nerdiness lurking in the practice spaces of Wisconsin, building songs as much on deviously timed noise squiggles as on deviously timed psych-metal riffs. For all the meetings of dub and math-rock that go on in the band’s songs, a ballsy rhythm section makes it all pretty damn gratifying even for those who like their rock a little less convoluted.
