ASSATA JONES

Born in Chicago, Illinois on November 12, 1992 as Alexis Assata Jones, she began singing at the age of 6 years old in the Hyde Park Chicago Children’s Choir. Shortly after discovering her talent, Assata enrolled into musical theater at age 9 and scored the leading role as “Oliver!” at the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago. She continued excelling in the craft of musical theater. As she got older, she moved to Toronto, ON where she attended an art’s school. She finally discovered her creativity. Assata inhaled fashion and different genres of music that would benefit her in the future. After Toronto, she moved to New Orleans at age 17 where she learned about the Bounce and Brass Band culture. She performed with the infamous trumpeter Kermit Ruffins and finally found her heart and soul in singing. Assata is now in school in Champaign, IL and plans to further her career in singing and Entertainment Law.
