If you are interested in groovy, stoner-influenced, progressive and melodic hard rock you probably know about Truckfighters already. “The best band that ever existed” as Josh Homme said in the 2011 “fuzzomentary” Truckfighters. You might also know the story about how Niklas ‘Dango‘ Källgren teamed up with bassist and vocalist Oskar ‘Ozo’ Cedermalm in a worn down rehearsal space in Örebro, Sweden in 2001 and how the first song they ever recorded, Desert Cruiser, since then has gone on to become a desert rock anthem. You probably also know that the band itself has gone on to release five full length albums and played sold out shows on four continents. Truckfighters have become a fundament in the ‘stoner rock/metal’ sub-genre with fans all over the world enjoying the crazy live shows and the fuzzy sounds… After more than 20 years as a band it is safe to say the touring is less frequent than the most intense years of the band. WIZZO, the enigmatic quartet from the Chicago, United States, has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Their sound is characterized by a clever mix of fuzz and groove progressions, guided by a hypnotic voice that carries the listener through their melodic and solid songs. With influences from bands such as Failure, Kyuss, Red Fang, Torche, Alice In Chains, Queens of the Stone Age, this band has created a unique sound. Despite their enigmatic nature, the band has a clear direction, showcasing their creativity and musical prowess. This quartet is one to watch as they continue to evolve and innovate.
Chokesetter formed in 2018 with a few old friends and longtime veterans from the local music scene in Northwest Indiana. Having played in notable separate bands for years, these gentlemen forged a path together that would form a heavy hitting band of crunchy riffs and smooth grooves. Chokesetter combines several musical influences from Black Sabbath and Clutch all the way to Fu Manchu and passionately grind their wheelhouse in authentic feel-good rock-n-roll, stoner rock riffs and swing style blues. Chokesetter rises above the rest by being well seasoned and experienced in playing live to any kind of audience and making new fans wherever they play in any variation of lineup. Each member of the band has played in front of audiences of all sorts for over 20 years giving them elevated experience in engaging the crowd regardless of being a support or a headlining act while presenting a professional and seasoned business attitude. All of the guys in the band would honestly say that they will never give up on their love for purely rocking out and working hard to manifest their long time dream of being on the big stage with the deep understanding that being in a band is a passion, a privilege, a relationship, a business, a commitment, and a wild ride with all the ups and downs and that no matter what, Chokesetter is in it to win it.
In December of 2022 the band signed its first record deal with Pavement Enertainment. They will be touring in support of their self titled LP, which will be released via Pavement in 2023.
