Black Sabbath was the epitome of heavy when I was young….. Led Zepplin…..Deep Purple……Pink Floyd, to me Black Sabbath was all that. Lord of the world is my favorite Sabbath song. It is probably the heaviest and plodding metal song ever written. I love all of their songs, but that one is my favorite. I first heard Sabbath when I was in Junior High. It was the Master of Reality album. As a whole album experience it blew me away!
I’ve always sang. I think I have Tourette Syndrome. Ozzy is so intense. Words would get stuck in my head and I had to scream them.
War Pigs is the first band I sang lead vocals for. In the past I’ve sang in the recording studio and back up vocals on stage. I actually auditioned to be the second guitarist. I was at Jeff Neal’s home recording studio and I listened to the guy who auditioned to be the singer a week earlier. I told Jeff I would like to sing a few songs. Jeff recorded it and said it sounded great. I don’t think I would have sang for them if it wasn’t for the first time we all got together. It went great and the rest is history.
I would never want to do this Black Sabbath Tribute with out Jeff, Dale, and Tom. It would never feel right for me. I am so happy that we can play to so many people to this day. The fans are the best!
